DAMONGO, Savannah Region — Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana has retained the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Savannah Regional Chairmanship after edging his challenger, Dr Clifford Abdallah Braimah, by just four votes in Saturday’s regional executive elections.

Sulemana secured 92 votes, while Dr Braimah received 88 votes, bringing a closely fought contest to a narrow finish.

The result gives Sulemana another term at the helm of the NPP’s regional structure as the party works to strengthen its organisation and grassroots presence ahead of the 2028 general elections.

A Four-Vote Victory

The chairmanship contest was one of the most closely watched races in the Savannah Region.
